On April 2, 2025, the Prajha Trust hosted a heartfelt event in honor of World Autism Awareness Day at the Institute of Child Health, Egmore, Chennai. The event aimed to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and provide support to children and families affected by it.

The event was graced by Dr. Prof. Rema Chandramohan, Director and Professor at the Institute of Child Health, who was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Rema’s inspiring speech highlighted the importance of inclusion, acceptance, and understanding for individuals with autism, encouraging everyone to become advocates for positive change in society.

With a gathering of over 50 participants, the event fostered an atmosphere of care, compassion, and community. Families, caregivers, medical professionals, and volunteers came together to celebrate the uniqueness of each individual and to promote awareness about autism.

As part of the event, the children received small gifts, including educational materials, plants, and toys. The joyful and supportive environment provided the perfect backdrop for an engaging session on the challenges and successes of living with autism.

The event also served as a fundraiser for Prajha Trust’s ongoing efforts to support children with autism and their families. Donations can still be made through the official Prajha Trust website at https://prajhatrust.org/donate/.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Prof. Rema Chandramohan for her invaluable contributions to the event, as well as to all the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made this event a success. Your continued support and kindness help us make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism.
